This is footage from the Erlking: Proof of Concept, a musical film that I directed as part of a portfolio piece and to launch beside the stage version. It was a crazy time filming till 3 AM during the almost Canadian fall, but it truly speaks to my love of the fantasy genre.
THE ARC TRILOGY: Highschool and Elementary
I was commissioned by Concrete Theatre in Edmonton to compose/produce 6 individual scores for 6 short "theater to film" productions for their ARC (Anti-Racism and Change) package. Each film encapsulated a marginalized communities experience and focused on exploring that experience.
This was an absolute treat not only because my work was being attached to a project so socially relevant, but each film required a score that was radically different in tone, style and sound from the next. Whether it be the playful intro to Hoodies, the somber simplistic synth tones in Dunya and Farook, or the full on “disney” magical realism of Alebrijes.
I love each track for a different reason, but because of Concrete’s generosity I was able to truly explore a wide and diverse set of voicings while staying true to myself as a composer.
ANIMATION WORK
I’ve had the immense pleasure of working with the animator Ayden Lamb and a large bulk of their porfolio. Currenty LA based, Ayden has a very unique sensibility in the way they play with texture and how they approach animation.
